UK & European Patent Attorney
Coreena is a UK Chartered and European Patent Attorney with over 20 years’ experience in both in-house and private practice. She drafts and prosecutes inventions in a huge range of different areas but her main practice areas are physics, computer-implemented and communications technology (spanning various areas of 3G to 6G). She has worked for clients in a range of sectors handling medical, autonomous vehicle, green energy, satellite, payment technology, quantum computing and artificial intelligence/machine learning technology. She has provided support for patent litigation in the US, Germany, Japan and UK, including claim charting and portfolio reviews for licensing opportunities.
Coreena took the decision to move to Two IP to gain more control over the way she interacts with her clients and her client base. Coreena uses technology and the flexibility offered by Two IP to offer highly cost-effective drafting and prosecution services, and to enable her to spend more quality time supporting clients, without compromising her work-life balance.
Coreena aims to provide a truly bespoke service to her clients, offering a flexible and collaborative approach. She supports her clients in developing a deeper understanding of how IP can benefit their business in a cost-effective way which brings IP strategy, commercial strategy, and technology strategy together.
Career History
Coreena‘s patent career spans both private practice and industry. She has worked in-house for large multinationals as well as for start-ups. Highlights include nine years at BT where she started as a patent attorney and left as Head of the New Wave Technology Patents Team, and five years at Nokia Technologies where she ultimately became Director and Head of Quality/Patent Operations. More recently, Coreena moved back into private practice in 2017 to work for CMS, one of the world’s largest law firms, in their patents team based at their London office. In 2020 Coreena moved to Zacco, one of Europe’s largest IP consultancy firms where she held the role of Partner, Patent Attorney with responsibility for building up the UK high-tech practice.
